The City Of Gulf Breeze To Resume Recycling Program
The City of Gulf Breeze will resume its recycling program Friday, September 30th, dependent on
ECUA reopening their recycling facility on Mon., Sept. 26. Reminder to remove all waste from
your recyclable can. ONLY recyclable goods will be picked up for disposal.
Gulf Breeze recycling averages a 16% contamination rate. The national industry average is 27%.
Keeping contamination levels low means that our city residents receive service at an affordable
rate compared to other areas, due to less sorting and waste at the MRF (material recycling
facility).
Gulf Breeze city residents are encouraged to get back to the basics and focus on ONLY placing
the following items in their curbside recycling bin:
• Clean and dry cardboard and paper
• Empty, clean, and dry aluminum and steel cans (no pet food cans due to plastic liner)
• Empty, clean, and dry plastic bottles and jugs
• Materials such as plastic bags, cords, wires, hoses, clothing, styrofoam, and greasy pizza
boxes are NOT recyclable. Don’t put these items in the curbside recycling bins.
Remember, when in doubt, throw it out! For more information
