GULF BREEZE PD RECEIVES THIRD CONSECUTIVE EXCELSIOR RATING

The City of Gulf Breeze is proud to announce that the Gulf Breeze Police Department has received its third consecutive Excelsior rating. The reaccreditation process occurs every three years, most recently concluding in August. There are approximately 400 law enforcement agencies statewide and GBPD is one of only 57 to earn the Excelsior status.

Chief Rick Hawthorne has served as the agency’s accreditation manager from 2005-2017. Chief has also served as an assessor and team leader for the Florida Commission of Accreditation for 10 years, participating in numerous onsite assessments throughout the State of Florida. This month, Chief Hawthorne was sworn in as one of 14 CFA Commissioners.  The future of the agency is bright with the leadership of Captain Tatro and Captain Neff, Sergeants Roberson, Skelton, Turner and Taveirne, and Investigator Goff.
