City of Gulf Breeze Flood Information Portal
Every year flooding causes hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage to homes and businesses in the United States. Standard homeowners and commercial property insurance policies do not cover flood losses. To meet the need for this vital coverage, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administers the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
The NFIP makes National Flood Insurance available through the NFIP. The City of Gulf Breeze, along with Santa Rosa County, actively participate in the NFIP through the Community Rating System. This participation helps to reduce the cost associated with obtaining flood insurance. As part of this effort, the City provides assistance to determine if your property is located in the floodplain and/or a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) so that you can determine if you need flood insurance coverage.
The following self-service resources are available to help you to make this determination and evaluate if you need coverage. We also offer this as a personalized service if you stop by City Hall or call us at (850) 934-5109, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.
