WASTE TRANSFER STATION
The city operates a waste transfer station for the convenience of city residents located just south of the intersection of Shoreline Drive and South Sunset Boulevard. Regular hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from April - October (months may vary). During the winter months, November - March (months may vary), the station will be closed on Tuesdays. Excess yard waste, tree limbs, trunks and stumps, non-hazardous construction scraps, old furniture, appliances, etc., may be dropped off for disposal. There are also containers for recyclable deposit (cardboard, plastic, and metals).
The Transfer Station is intended for residential use only, please do not direct contractors and landscapers to use this facility. The city does not offer large item pickup, but many furniture and appliance retailers will haul away old items at no charge with delivery—be sure to ask! For everyone’s safety and compliance, scavenging is strictly prohibited.
