Mayor Fitch has been a member of the Gulf Breeze City Council since 2012. She was appointed Mayor on February 4, 2019. Mayor Fitch was re-elected for her second full term as Mayor in 2022. Her current term runs from December 2022 to December 2024.
Mayor Fitch’s policy priorities reflect her background as a public school administrator and relocation specialist for the area’s top producing real estate firm. In year one as mayor, the City Council adopted its first Ten-Year Capital Improvement Plan and updated the Emergency Operations Plan to include national response contracts a year ahead of the record storm season that included cat 2 Hurricane Sally. Within 90 days of Hurricane Sally, residents participated in Polco’s National Citizen’s Survey and ranked their government’s performance higher than the national average in all 12 performance categories.
In 2021, Mayor Fitch and City Council adopted the 5-Year Resiliency Strategic Plan. Mayor Fitch’s priorities reflect her consensus building with the City Council, and regional and state officials: In her role as FL-AL TPO appointee, the city’s Highway 98 transportation improvement projects were added in 2022 to the FL-AL 2024-2028 Project Priorities for federal funding.
