MUNICIPAL YOUTH COUNCIL
The City of Gulf Breeze is proud to announce the continuation of its award-winning Municipal Youth Council program, created by Mayor Cherry Fitch and City Council in 2020. High school students within the community meet bi-weekly during the Fall and Spring school year to learn about municipal functions, participate in local government activities, and create youth-led community projects.
The Interact Club partners with the Municipal Youth Council as students dedicate themselves to Service Above Self. However, it is not required that students be members of Interact Club in order to participate in Youth Council.
MISSION STATEMENT:
“The purpose of the Gulf Breeze Municipal Youth Council is to promote civic engagement and prepare our youth for future community leadership by providing opportunities to learn about and understand municipal government operations and plan and implement community initiatives.”
FALL 2022 TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Applications must be turned in on or before the day of the initial Municipal Youth Council meeting– typically the last Wednesday in September. Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at City Hall.
