While initial inspections in 2023 and 2024 showed isolated issues, follow-up inspections in early 2025 revealed that approximately 87% of the deck boards were affected.
Project Status: Construction Beginning (January 2026)
The City held a pre-construction meeting this morning for the Wetlands Trail Boardwalk (WTB). A Notice to Proceed has been issued, and work will begin tomorrow, January 27. The first shipment of replacement deck boards has already been delivered to the site.

To protect the City's investment, a warranty claim was initiated with the manufacturer and a bond claim with NGM Insurance Company. We are pleased to report that the manufacturer and the surety have worked cooperatively with the City to reach this resolution and begin the replacement process.
Timeline: Repairs are anticipated to be completed in under 90 days.
Access: Expect intermittent closures. There will be periods when the boardwalk cannot be traversed from end to end.
