West Bay Shore Sewer To Septic Conversion
Last updated on February 20th, 2025 at 09:02 am
2.20.2025 This project is currently awaiting a grant agreement or award announcement, which is expected to be released in March or April 2025.
The Project will remove antiquated septic tanks and replace them with gravity sewer systems or state-of-the-art low-pressure grinder pumps and piping that tie directly into the City's centralized sewage transmission and collection system. The effluent will be added to the City's Water Reclamation Facility located at Tiger Point. The goal of this project is to improve water quality in Santa Rosa Sound and Pensacola Bay by connecting homes near the water currently served by septic systems to an advanced wastewater treatment plant. Bacterial pollution from septic systems will be eliminated, and nutrient exports to the sound and bay will be reduced. To improve water quality and environmental compliance, a sewer main will be installed to service the area show and residents will be offered an opportunity to connect for an extremely reduced cost.
