Wayside Park – Boat Ramp and Pier Replacement

Hurricane Sally caused significant damage to Wayside Park in September 2020. In Wayside West, the storm impacted the boat ramp, bulkhead, and ramp piers, while the northern section experienced seawall damage, ground erosion, and structural destabilization. On April 3, 2023, the CRA authorized staff to collaborate with Baskerville Donovan, (BDI) to develop Repair and Improvement plans for Wayside Park.

Wayside Park - Boat Ramp and Pier Replacement

On November 14th, three (3) bids were received for the ITB. Loftis Marine, LLC, was the lowest responsive bidder at $1,193,807, or $809,435, for the Base Bid of Wayside West and $384,372 for the Bid Alternate of Wayside North.  This bid price was within 7% of the engineer's estimate of probable costs.  If approved, the total costs of repairs to Wayside East, West, and North would be $2,314,447, within 5% of the original forecast of $2,200,000. The project is being funded by bed tax dollars.
