Shoreline Phase I Septic to Sewer Project

The City of Gulf Breeze is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the installation of low-pressure grinder systems and the abandonment of existing septic tanks at thirty (30) residential properties along Shoreline Drive, Bay Cliffs Circle, McLane Drive, Beach Drive, and Malaga Street. The scope of work includes decommissioning and properly abandoning existing septic tanks, in-stalling sewer grinder stations and service lines, and connecting the new systems to the existing electrical panels of each residence. Homeowners will be responsible for any necessary electrical upgrades. Additionally, contractors must restore all disturbed areas to their original condition, in-cluding grading, sodding, and any other site restoration required to ensure a seamless integration with the surrounding environment.

Shoreline Phase I Septic to Sewer Project

This project is currently in the DESIGN phase and has not been advertised.

STATUS UPDATE:

5.8.25: Staff is continuing to work with GBRWS to obtain clearance from the DEP for the newly installed main in order to proceed with the STS conversions.
4.23.25: Staff is working with GBRWS to ensure the LPS main within this project area has received clearance from the DEP before advertising this project. Once the DEP has cleared the main, staff will move forward with advertisement.

3.10.25: Staff has prepared the bid package and is in the process of obtaining the permit from the DEP. The project will then be ready for advertisement.


RESIDENT RESOURCES:

CURRENT IMPACT FEE: $5,320
The current sewer impact fee is $5,320 and can be paid in full or financed over ten years in interest-free monthly installments of $44.33 through the city. If residents opt for the payment plan, repayment will commence once the plan is established. However, residents will not receive invoices for sewer services until the property is connected to the sewer. Following the connection of the property and initiation of sewer service, the anticipated monthly sewer bill will amount to approximately $20.10, in addition to $5.09 for every 1,000 gallons of usage. However, this figure is subject to potential increases, as rates are subject to periodic revisions. Residents seeking to establish the payment plan must first submit the New Service Application Form to the Utility Billing Department to initiate their new sewer account. Alternatively, residents may visit the Utility Billing Department at 311 Fairpoint Drive to arrange the payment plan.
