Mission
Natural Resources is responsible for the City’s natural resource management. This includes monitoring the city’s Tree Protection Ordinance and reporting on water quality, as well as maintaining the public stormwater system, streets, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and the waste transfer station. Additionally, this team operates per the city’s Emergency Operations Plan for natural disaster preparedness and response.
Tree Removal Permit: Free to Get and Costly to Skip!
Tree Brochure: Know Before You Cut. It is highly recommended before you remove a tree or clear land, that you read the city’s tree brochure to avoid any costly mistakes. The city’s ordinance protects virtually all trees 12 caliper inches or greater, except in certain instances. There is no charge for a permit and review but the cost of removing a tree without a permit can be costly and add up!
