Transfer Station Retention Wall

PROJECT STATUS:
Certificate of Completion received from SRC Building Inspections Division 9.10.2024. Project is completed. 

8.16.24 Construction is underway. Steel sheet pilings are being installed on the north side of the dump pit.

8.8.2024 Construction will begin on Monday, August 12, 2024. The transfer station will be closed through August 30, 2024.

7.18.24 Soule Construction has received permit from SRC. Waiting on materials. 

7.3.24 Soule Construction is awaiting on the permit from Santa Rosa County. Once the permit is approved, construction may begin.

6.13.24 Plans received today and approved. Soule Construction will continue with the permit application. 

Borings were completed on May 9. The testing lab is still running the tests and the results are expected back the week of May 20. Once received, the information gathered on the soil will be sent to the engineer to design the sheet piles and develop the permit set of drawings. These items are anticipated to be completed by June 10.

Borings for the retaining walls will be completed on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

City Council awarded the bid to Soule Construction on March 4, 2024 in the amount of $215,991.22 for the demolition of the existing wooden timbers and construction of 2 new retaining walls, on the North and West ends, using steel sheet pilings. The alternate bid was not approved. Both parties are currently reviewing/signing the contract. Once the contract is executed, the NTP will be issued. 

2.15.2024: Bid opening was held. City received 3 bids. Staff has made their recommendation to City Council. Decision will be made on 3.4.2024 at the City Council Meeting.

This project will be a Request for Proposals (RFP) to determine the best plan for constructing two new retaining walls using steel sheet pilings at the Gulf Breeze Waste Transfer Station.
