MISSION
The Development Services Division of the Public Works Department provides expertise and assistance to all city departments in implementing the city's Capital Improvement Plan and annual special projects as directed by the Mayor and Council. The Development Services Division ensures cost savings and high-quality work from competitively bid and internally designed projects by providing in-house project engineering, monitoring, drafting, and mapping.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Development Services division was established in 2020 to coordinate the major capital projects within the Public Services arena and other City departments. The Department is led by the Development Services Manager, who oversees two project managers, the GIS coordinator and the facilities coordinator. The division's function is to provide inter-department coordination of major construction projects, mapping all City systems, reviewing and inspecting developer-constructed utility systems to be turned over to the City, and managing the centralized communications for meters.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Issuing Right of Way (ROW) Permits for Utilities (see link below to submit a ROW application)

Plan Reviews: Conducts engineering plan reviews for land development and/or building permit-related applications.

Subdivision-related properties: Performs reviews of tentative plat submittals, prepares estimates of subdivision improvement bonds, performs reviews of subdivision right of way improvement engineering plans, prepares subdivision improvement bond agreements, prepares hold harmless agreements, conducts assessment of completion of subdivision improvements, performs reviews of subdivision improvement as-built surveys, administers subdivision improvement bonds.
