The mission of the Finance Department is to provide responsive, professional, ethical, and cost effective fiscal and administrative services to meet the needs of City Council, other departments, and the community.
The services provided by the Finance Department include accounting and fiscal management in these critical areas: accounts payable, payroll, benefits, debt management, revenue, pension fund accounting, utility billing and collection, business licenses and managing the primary business computer system for the City.

Entry level positions in customer service, utility billing and accounting roles are typically sourced, screened and hired through area temporary agencies (Kelly / Express / Landrum) on a six month “temp-to-hire” track. Positions are filled on an ‘as needed’ and ‘as available’ basis.
